FUNERAL HELD: Attrude Elizabeth Bennett

 DATELINE: Isle La Motte, Vermont

 

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, April 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. from Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Mission. Father Thomas D. Nadeau was the celebrant and homilist. Amiya and Justin Sharp assisted as Ministers of the Altar and Mrs. Joanne Batchelder saved as Eucharistic Minister.

 

Music was provided by soloist, Maurice Gauthier accompanied by organist, Carol Pellerin.

 

The White Funeral Pall was draped over Attrude’s casket by her four sons, Alan, Roger, Richard and Kirk Bennett. Daughter, Karen Gleich then placed the crucifix. Scripture readings from the Old and New Testament were proclaimed by longtime family friend, Constance Boutin. The Offertory Gifts were presented by granddaughters, Danielle Bennett, Laura Miller and Elizabeth Gleich.

 

Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Grand Isle County Court, Grand Isle County Sheriff’s Department, Isle La Motte Town Offices, Isle La Motte United Methodist Church, The Hairloft, Cape Coral Food and Nutrition Services, Isle La Motte Parent Teacher Association, Senesac Memorials, Isle La Motte Fire Department and First Response, Grand Isle County States Attorney’s Office led by States Attorney Douglas DeSabito, Alburgh Historical Society, and The Lake Champlain Islands Roman Catholic Parish Community.

 

The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Dubuque / Bennett family lot in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery with Father Nadeau reading the committal prayers. The bearers all grandsons were, Shawn Bennett, Jeffrey Bennett, Thomas O’Brien, Toby Peacock, Nathan Miller, Matthew Bennett and Michael Bennett. 

 

Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends at the Saint Amadeus Parish Center in Alburgh hosted by Maurice Gauthier.
