FUNERAL HELD: Armand Joseph Boudreau

DATELINE: Highgate Center, Vermont

 

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, November 18, 2016, at 11 a.m. from Saint Louis Roman Catholic Church. Father Luke P. Austin was the celebrant and Homilist. John Ferland and Paul Laroche served as Ministers of the Altar.

 

Music was provided by soloist, Jeanne Begnoche accompanied by organist, Michael Olmstead. Hymns selected for the liturgy were, Precious Lord Take My Hand, The Old Rugged Cross, Mother Dear O Pray for Me and America the Beautiful.

 

A Large Guard of Honor was formed by members of the Knights of Columbus, Saint Edmund of Canterbury Assembly 2207 of Swanton, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Charles DaPrato Post 778 of Swanton, The American Legion, Green Mountain Post 1 of Saint Albans and The Military Order of the Purple Heart.

 

The White Funeral Pall was draped over Armandís Casket by grandsons, Christopher and Adrian Boudreau and Cody Bannister and Kalob Gabree. The Crucifix was then placed by son, Aubrey Boudreau. Scripture readings from The Old and New Testament were proclaimed by, Paul Laroche. The Offertory Gifts were presented by grandsons, Christopher and Adrian Boudreau.

 

Among the many delegations in attendance were representatives from the Highgate Town Offices, Highgate Historical Society, Highgate School District, Highgate Volunteer Fire Department, Missisquoi Valley Union High School, United States Postal Service, Cotaís Auto Parts and Service, M&T Sand and Gravel, Grand Avenue Enterprises, Terricel Transit, Goose Point Campground, Swanton Village Green Apartments, Franklin County Senior Citizens, Hi-Swans Senior Citizens and the parish community of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary-Saint Louis.

 

The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Boudreau family lot in Saint Louis Cemetery with Father Austin reading the committal prayers. The Bearers were grandsons, Christopher and Adrian Boudreau, Cody Banister and Kalob Gabree and representing the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Norman Gosselin and Philip LaCross.

 

Full Military Honors were accorded the deceased by members of the Vermont Army National Guard, Funeral Honors Team. The American Flag which draped the World War II veterans casket was folded by, SPC Jared Quick and presented to Armandís sons, Aubrey and James Boudreau by SGT Devin Johnson. The Firing Party consisted of members of The Franklin County Honor Detail. Taps were sounded by Bugler, Melody Thibault.

 

Following The Prayers of Committal and Military Services, a reception was held for family and friends at the Father Jean Paul Laplante Parish Center hosted by, Mrs. Raymonde Choiniere and the Saint Louis Ladies of Saint Anne.

 

On Friday evening during the visitation members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 778 conducted a prayer service. Participating was, Brian Reed Commander, William Newton Chaplain, Rene Rocheleau Senior Vice Commander, Allen Jones Junior Vice Commander and David Mott Officer of the Day.
