FUNERAL HELD: George Henry Foster, Jr.

 DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont


A Funeral Service was held Friday, July 22, 2016, at 11 a.m. from The Swanton Christian Church. Pastor Daniel Brueckner officiated.


Music was provided by the Christian Church choir accompanied by pianists, Michelle Brueckner and Terry Kiser as well as drummer, David Brueckner.


The Eulogy was delivered by George’s daughter, Beth Libby and special Words of Remembrance were shared by daughter-in-law, Debbie Foster, Church associate, Hans Kiser and Pastor Brueckner.


Among the large delegations in attendance were representatives from the Swanton Village and Town Offices, Swanton Cemetery Commission, Office of Attorney George Spear., The Part’s Store, Pete Paquette Real Estate, Swanton Village Green Apartments, Vermont Precision Tools, Veterans of Foreign Wars Charles DaPrato Post 778 Men’s Auxiliary, Our Lady of the Meadows, Giordano Manor, Bruyette’s Tree Service and the parish communities of The Swanton Christian Church, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, West Swanton United Methodist Church and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary-Saint Louis Parish.


The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Foster family lot in Riverside Cemetery with Pastor Brueckner reading the committal prayers. The bearers were George’s sons, Dana and Peter Foster and grandsons, Ryan Libby and Joseph Cava.


Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends at the Stearns Court home of George’s daughter, and son-in-law, Amy and Robert Giroux.
