FUNERAL HELD: Noella Marie Fournier
DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont
The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, June 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Luke P. Austin was the celebrant and homilist. Edward Daniel and Eugene LaBombard assisted as Ministers of the Altar and Mrs. Marielle Parent as Eucharistic Minister.
Music was provided by soloist, Jeanne Begnoche accompanied by organist, Michael Olmstead. Special Music was offered during the Offertory by, Molly Renning singing the hymn, “Amazing Grace.”
A large guard of honor was formed by members of the, Nativity Ladies of Saint Anne and the Vermont Catholic Daughters of America, Saint Albans Court Saint Mary # 468.
The White Funeral Pall was draped over Noella’s casket by her daughters, Lou Ann Corbeil and Molly Wilaby and daughter-in-law, Tara Fournier. The Crucifix was then placed by her husband, Rene Joseph Fournier. Scripture readings from The Old and New Testament were proclaimed by granddaughters, Amanda Calhoun and Allison Hale. The Offertory Gifts were presented by grandchildren, Megan Barrette, Kaitlyn Wilaby, Emily Fournier and Raymond Fournier. Following communion “The Prayer for a Deceased Lady of Saint Anne” was read by, Nativity president Mrs. Joyce Bombardier.
Among the large delegations in attendances were representatives from the Vermont Senate and House of Representatives, Rene J. Fournier Farm Equipment, Warren Fournier Home Improvement Center, Swanton, Alburgh and Isle La Motte Town and Village Offices, Franklin County Home Health Agency and Hospice Program, Barrette Ford, Swanton Village Fire Department and Auxiliary, Swanton Chamber of Commerce, Harvest Equipment, Swanton Historical Society, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Northwest Technical Center, Northwestern Medical, Pickle Point friends and neighbors, Boucher Fertilizer, Bourdeau Brothers, Ray’s Extruder Die Services, Neil Speer Construction, The Peoples Trust Company, Champlain Housing Trust, Kenshire Court Girls, The Handy Group, Flowers by Debbie, Vermont State Police, Mary S. Babcock and Swanton Central Schools, Missisquoi Valley Union High School and the parish community of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Saint Louis.
The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Fournier family lot in the West Swanton Cemetery with Father Austin reading the committal prayers. Additional words of remembrance were shared at the cemetery by Noella’s husband Rene Joseph Fournier. The bearers were son-in-law, Michael Wilaby and grandsons, Benjamin, David and Joseph Fournier and Jason Calhoun and A.J. Barrette.
Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends at the Nativity Parish Center hosted by Mrs. Joyce Bombardier and the Nativity Ladies of Saint Anne.
