FUNERAL HELD: Leona Helen Hakey

DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont

A Funeral Service was held Saturday at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home. Father Daniel J. Jordan, pastor of Saint John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Enosburgh Falls officiated. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by granddaughters, Parmallee Chaffee and Tamara Gagne. Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the, Vermont Army National Guard, United States Department of Homeland Security, United States Postal Service, Highgate School District, The Total Home Center, Ashley Fine Furniture, Joan’s Coiffure, Bev’s Shear Expectation, H.G. Berger & Son Oil Company, Highgate School District, Swanton Town and Village Offices, Franklin County Rehab Center, Price Chopper, Local Avon Representatives and New England Central Railroad. The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Hakey family lot in Riverside Cemetery with Father Jordan reading the committal prayers. The Honorary Bearers were, Raymond Hakey Jr., Michael and Jason Hakey. The Active Bearers were great grandsons, Caleb Chaffee and David Gagne and grandsons, James, Shawn, Chad and Todd Larivee. Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held at the Swanton Municipal Complex hosted by family and friends.
