FUNERAL HELD: Winfred “Winnie” Howard
DATELINE: Alburgh, Vermont
The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 11 a.m. from Saint Amadeus Roman Catholic Church. Father Thomas D. Nadeau was the celebrant and homilist. Justin and Amiya Sharp served as Ministers of the Altar and Constance Pearo Boutin as Eucharistic Minister. Music was provided by vocalists, Maurice Gauthier and Frances Theoret accompanied by organist, Carol Pellerin.
The White Funeral Pall was draped over Winnie’s casket by daughter, Tina Howard and daughter-in-law, Heidi Jones. The Crucifix was then placed by his wife, Phyliss Howard. Scripture readings from the Old and New Testament were proclaimed by granddaughter, Stephanie Grandchamp. The Offertory Gifts were presented by grandchildren, Katie White, Kassidy Mannings, Chelsey Howard, Whitney Howard, and Jessica LaFromboise.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Alburgh Village and Town Offices, Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue, Rene J. Fournier Farm Equipment, Office of Attorney George Spear, Office of Doctor Milton Robison, Ed Bousquet Handyman, Champlain Valley Equipment, Irick Excavating and many family and friends from the Essex and Westford communities.
The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Howard family lot in Saint Amadeus Cemetery with Father Nadeau reading the committal prayers. The bearers were sons-in-law, Dennis White, Gerald Gagne, Wayne Dion and grandsons, R.J. Smith, Joshua LaFromboise and Denny White.
The funeral procession was escorted from Saint Amadeus Church to Saint Amadeus Cemetery by Winnie’s Tractor driven by son-in-law, Dennis White.
Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held at the Alburgh Fire Station Hall hosted by Maurice Gauthier.
