FUNERAL HELD: Michelle Lee Lampman
DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont
A Celebration of Life for Michelle Lee Lampman was held Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 12 noon from The Kidder Memorial Home. The Reverend Father J. Robert Spainhour, Rector for Holy Trinity Episcopal Church officiated.
Special Words of Remembrance were shared by Doctor Jeffrey Benay, Co-Chair of the Vermont Commission on Native American Affairs and Director of the Franklin Northwest Indian Education Program. Poems were recited by Crystal Lampman, Book Ryan and Alexis Churchill.
Among the large delegations in attendance were representatives from the Abenaki Nation of Vermont led by Chief Leonard “Moose” Lampman, Abenaki Self Help Association, Title VII Indian Education, Vermont Commission of Native American Affairs, Franklin Northwest Indian Education, Tuttle’s Trucking, Champlain Housing Trust, Swanton Historical Society, Swanton Village Police, Missisquoi Valley Rescue, Andy Leduc Construction, Bob’s One Stop, Classic Cuts, Porters Bike Shop, Mary S, Babcock and Swanton Central Schools, X-Stream Team, and the parish community of Holy Trinity.
At the conclusion of the service the Abenaki flag was folded by Michelle’s Uncle, Lester Lampman and presented to Michelle’s daughter, Cheyenne by Chief Lampman.
Following the service a reception was held at the Abenaki Tribal Council on Grand Avenue hosted by family and friends.
