FUNERAL HELD: David Michael Machia

DATELINE: Highgate Center, Vermont

 

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 11 a.m. from Saint Louis Roman Catholic Church. Father Luke P. Austin was the celebrant and homilist. John Ferland and Paul Laroche served as Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by soloist and guitarist, Gail Perras.

 

The White Funeral Pall was draped over David’s casket by his children, David Garceau, Tausha Simmons, Stacey Ferland and Michelle Greenia. The Crucifix was then placed by, David Garceau. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by niece, Jenna Machia. Scripture readings From The Old and New Testament were proclaimed by daughter, Nicole Jacobs and close family friend, Heather Bellrose. The Offertory Gifts were presented by daughters, Nicole Jacobs and Jennifer Machia.

 

Among the large delegations in attendance were representatives from Rock-Tenn, Harley Owners Group, Richie’s Construction, Price Chopper, Sheldon Mini Mart, Collins-Perley Sports Complex, Green Mountain Forest Products and Dairy, Green Mountain Electric Supply, G. Boucher Fertilizer, Franklin County Home Health Agency-Hospice Program, O.C. McCuin and Sons, Vermont Transportation Department, Cy’s Printing and Lamination Service,  Swanton Chiropractic, Andrews Property Management and the parish community of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Saint Louis.

 

The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Machia family lot in Saint Louis Cemetery with Father Austin reading the committal prayers. The bearers were, Ronald Machia, William Machia, Alan Levick, Ricky Machia Sr., George Jacobs III and David Barnum.

 

Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends in the Father Jean Paul Laplante Parish Center hosted by Mrs. Raymonde Choiniere and the Saint Louis Ladies of Saint Anne.
