FUNERAL HELD: Evelyn Stewart Martin

DATELINE: Highgate Falls, Vermont

A Funeral Service celebrating the life of Evelyn Stewart Martin was held Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home. The Reverend Anne Torrance Bachmann, newly appointed pastor of the Swanton Memorial United Methodist Parish officiated. Music was provided by guitarist Steven Raymond. Special Words of remembrance were shared by John Gorton and Evelyn’s son George Martin III. Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the, Highgate Historical Society, Missisquoi Valley Union High School, Franklin County Rehab Center, Dan Hazard and Son Excavating, and Sheldon Food Shelf. Interment followed at the Martin Family lot in Saint John’s Episcopal Cemetery with The Reverend Mrs. Bachmann reading the committal prayers. The bearers were, Dennis Nolan, Raymond Bushey, Roger Bushey, Morris St. Pierre, David Dunton and Stanley (Butch) Stewart. Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends at the Highgate Community Center.
