FUNERAL HELD: Robert Charles Peterson
DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont
The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Luke P. Austin was the celebrant and homilist. Edward Daniel and Eugene LaBombard served as Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan. Hymns selected were, God Gives Us Each A Gift of Life, My Fathers Eyes, Psalm Twenty-Three, Schubertís Ave Maria, Just A Closer Walk With Thee, Here We Are Remembering Again, Song Of Farewell and I Call You To My Fathersí House.
The White Funeral Pall was draped over Bobís casket by daughters-in-law, Heather and Lori Peterson. His wife Carolyn then placed the Crucifix. Scripture readings from the Old and New Testament were proclaimed by granddaughter, Danielle Peterson and cousin, Theresa Rustico. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Danielle and Heather Peterson.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the United States Department of Homeland Security including the Customs and Border Protection Services, Rene J. Fournier Farm Equipment, Warren Fournier Home Improvement Center, Swanton Rexall, Christopher Advertising, Drummac the parish communities of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary-Saint Louis and Holy Trinity Episcopal and many Alburgh and West Swanton friends and neighbors.
The Rite of Committal and Interment followed in the West Swanton (Donaldson) Cemetery with Father Austin reading the committal prayers. The bearers were Bobís sons, Jeffrey and Scott Peterson; grandsons, Cody Peterson and cousins, Joseph Rustico, Stephen Misliwiec and Raymond Fournier.
Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends at the Nativity Parish Center hosted by the Nativity Ladies of Saint Anne.
