FUNERAL HELD: John Clement Rainville

 DATELINE: Highgate Center, Vermont

 

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 11 a.m. from Saint Louis Roman Catholic Church. Clement’s cousin, Father Marcel R. Rainville, SSE was the celebrant and homilist. Assisting as Deacon was The Reverend Mr. Joseph Sanderson. John Ferland and Paul Laroche served as Ministers of the Altar.

 

Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan. A large guard of honor was formed by members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department led by, Sheriff Robert Norris.

 

The Crucifix was placed by Clement’s wife, Elizabeth C. Rainville. Scripture readings from The Old and New Testament were proclaimed by nephew, James Rainville and niece Roseanne Town and The Offertory Gifts presented by niece, Anna Crocker and nephew, Robert Parent. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by son, Brian Rainville. The Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell were offered by Deacon Sanderson assisted by Father Rainville

 

Among the large delegations in attendance were representatives from the National Farmers Organization, Franklin, Town Offices, The Haston Library, Franklin Homestead and Carriage House, Randolph Union High School, Franklin School District, Northwest Supervisory Union-Office of the Superintendent of Schools, Missisquoi Valley Union High School, Bellows Free Academy-Saint Albans, Northwest Technical Center, Saint Michael’s College-Office of Campus Ministry, Saint Anne’s Shrine, M&C Transport, Handy Toyota and Handy Chevrolet, G. Boucher Fertilizer, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Rene J. Fournier Farm Equipment, Northwestern Medical Center, Franklin County Rehabilitation Center, Terricel Transit, M&T Sand and Gravel, Swanton Public Library, Cobb Auto, Desorcie’s Store, Franklin United and East Franklin Union Churches and the parish communities, of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary-Saint Louis and Saint Mary’s Mission of Franklin.

 

The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Rainville family lot in Saint Louis Cemetery with Deacon Sanderson assisted by Father Rainville reading the committal prayers. The bearers were Clement’s sons, Anthony and Craig Rainville and nephew, Lawrence Magnant and cousin, Lawrence Rainville.   

 

Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends at the Father Jean Paul Laplante Parish Center hosted by, Mrs. Raymonde Choiniere and the Saint Louis Ladies of Saint Anne.
