FUNERAL HELD: John Adam Schmidt
DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont
The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 2 p.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Luke P. Austin was the celebrant and homilist. Eugene LaBombard and Paul Laroche served as Ministers of the Altar.
Music was provided by soloist, Jeanne Begnoche accompanied by organist, Michael Olmstead.
Scripture readings from the Old and New Testament were proclaimed by, Kristi Depiero and Kelli Garis.
Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from Mylan Technologies, The Abby Group, Boucher Fertilizer and the parish community of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Saint Louis.
The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Schmidt family lot in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery with Father Austin reading the committal prayers. The bearers were, Mark Bombardier, Jim Schmidt, Jack Schmidt and Dave Depiero.
Military Honors were accorded the deceased by members of the United States Navy, Funeral Honors Team. The American Flag which honored the World War II and Korean Veteran was folded by LS2 Amy Haskins and presented to Mr. Schmidt’s daughter, Jennifer Bombardier by ENS Daniel Tifft. Taps were sounded by Bugler, LS2 Amy Haskins.
Following The Prayers of Committal and Military Honors a reception was held for family and friends at the Nativity Parish Center hosted by, Mrs. Joyce Bombardier and the Nativity Ladies of Saint Anne.
