FUNERAL HELD: Kathleen Ann Tougas

DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont

 

A Traditional Roman Catholic Latin Requiem Funeral Mass was offered Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

 

Father Brian J. O’Donnell, parochial vicar at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Joseph’s Co-Cathedral officiated. Present in the Sanctuary was Father Luke P. Austin, pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary-Saint Louis Parish. Altar Servers all from The Vermont Traditional Latin Mass Community included, Thurifer, Joseph Handy; Cross-Bearer, Eric Heiman; Candle Bearers, Raymond Trainque and Aaron Beattie; Acolytes, Christopher Beattie and Ryan Hester. Mr. Caleb Insco, FSSP from the Fraternity of St. Peter Apostolate in Montreal, Quebec Canada served as Master of Ceremonies. Music was provided by members of the Vermont Gregorian Chant Schola.

 

Among the large delegations in attendance were representatives from Perrigo Nutritionals, Franklin County Home Health Agency, Aubuchon Hardware, Knights of Columbus, Saint Edmund of Canterbury Council #1176 and Fourth Degree Assembly #2207, and the parish communities of, Immaculate Conception and Holy Angels Saint Albans, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Joseph’s Co-Cathedral Burlington, Saint Francis Xavier Winooski, Holy Family-Saint Lawrence Essex Junction and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary-Saint Louis of Swanton and Highgate.

 

The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Tougas family lot in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery with Father O’Donnell assisted by Father Austin reading the committal prayers. The bearers were Kathleen’s husband, Marcel Tougas and Caleb Tougas, Danny Beauregard, Eric Beauregard, Andre Beauregard, Steve Bushey and Charles St. Germain.

 

Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends at the Nativity Parish Center hosted by Mrs. Joyce Bombardier and the Nativity Ladies of Saint Anne.
