Obituary: Walter Aaron Mashtare

Walter Aaron Mashtare of Alburgh passed away on the morning of, March 10, 2016, at The Villa Rehab Center in St Albans City. Walter was born on, April 16, 1933, in North Hero, VT. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Clifford Mashtare and Mary Jane (Hutchins) Mashtare and his wife, Frances on September 22, 2004.
Walter owned and operated a Auto Repair Shop at the Alburgh four corners from 1971 until 1986. He faithfully served his country in the US Army and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Alburgh American Legion, Creller-Landon Post 60 and the Alburgh Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue for many years.
Walter is survived by his son, Harry and wife Julie of Swanton. Walter and Frances were perfect grandparents and dearly loved their grandchildren: Heather Krone, Holly Barker, Conley Hilliker, Jayne Mashtare, Allyssen Mashtare, Sarah Ede and Irene Rippon, as well as one great grandson Zachary Krone. He also leaves his best friend Glen Goodsell.
He was predeceased by daughters, Connie Rose Barker in 1988 and Mary Frances Mashtare in 1958. Also, his brothers, Herbert Mashtare, Millard Mashtare, Kenneth Mashtare and Earl Mashtare as well as his sister Theresa Maskell.
There will be no calling hours or funeral at this time. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held later in the spring at Mashtare family lot in the Alburgh Center Cemetery
