DATELINE: Alburgh, Vermont Roland “Charlie” Wesley Pearo, age 92
years, died early Sunday morning, June 13, 2010 at The Saint Albans Health
and Rehabilitation Center with loving family at his side. He was born on January 28, 1918, in
Alburgh Springs, VT to Nellie Covey Pearo and Hebert J. Pearo, and was
married on, January 31, 1947, to Madeline Margaret Jarvis. He is survived by
his children, Connie Boutin, Herbert Pearo and his spouse Tawnia, Philip
Pearo and his spouse Aileen; grandchildren, Jason, Josh and Zachary Pearo,
Christopher Goodsell and his wife Teresa, Matthew Goodsell, Allen Goodsell
and his wife Amanda, Derek and Samantha Tedford; great grandchildren, Alex,
Dillen, Victoria, Sophia and Francesca Goodsell, Hailey, Metiever and
Seraphina Pearo as well as several
nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his wife
Maddy, on October 11, 2005 and by three brothers, Albert, Vic and Henry
Pearo.
He was a charter member of the Alburgh
American Legion, Creller-Landon Post 60. He owned and operated with his
family Pearo’s General Store and worked for the CV Railroad. Charlie was an
avid fisherman and a fishing guide on Lake Champlain during the 1950’s. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will
be celebrated Friday, June 18, 2010, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel at Saint
Anne’s Shrine, 92 St. Anne’s Rd., Isle La Motte. Father Brian J. Cummings,
SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment
will follow at the Pearo family lot in Saint Amadeus Roman Catholic Cemetery,
Alburgh. Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton
on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Gifts in Charlie’s memory may be made to the
