Established Wood & Kidder Furniture, Inc. in 1953.

Established Kidder Memorial Home in 1975.

Graduate of the former Swanton High School.

Graduate of The Renard School of Mortuary Science in New York City.

Longtime member of the Vermont and National Funeral Directors Associations.

In earlier years associated with the Leo F. Kearns Funeral Homes in New York City

as well as several funeral homes throughout Chittenden and Franklin Counties.

Parishioner of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

United States Navy Veteran of World War II and Korean Conflict.

Member of the American Legion, Green Mountain Post #1 Saint Albans,

 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post # 758 Saint Albans and # 778 Swanton.

Other memberships include: Seventy-Six Lodge #14 F.&A.M., Mt. Sinai Shriners #3 Montpelier,

 Royal Order of Jesters Court #151 Montpelier, Swanton Chamber of Commerce,

 member and past President Saint Albans Rotary Club and past member of the Ethan Allen Club of Burlington, Vermont.

Married to: Elvy Hubbard Kidder.

Children: Stephen H. Kidder and his wife Marian (Cardillo), Linda Kidder, Esq. and her husband Patrick White.

A son George H. Kidder died on April 17, 2002.
